Patient - Abdominoplasty

Before
This patient came in unhappy with her bulging abdomen. She had some loose skin and stretch marks but had lost a lot of muscle tone due to her pregnancies and could not get this back with exercise. I recommended a traditional tummy tuck (abdominoplasty) with tightening of the muscles. Muscle repair is something I do in over 90% of abdominoplasties and produces the flattest, tightest abdomen. Even so, I recommend patients do what they can with exercise before resorting to surgery.
After
Her after photos were taken six months after the surgery and show a nice result. I try to place the incision so that it is at or below the line of a bikini if possible. The modest bulge in the lower abdomen is common in most women who are not naturally thin or very athletic. A little liposuction here might flatten that further but cannot be done simultaneously with the tummy tuck as it would compromise the healing of the incision. This patient was very happy and did not desire anyting further.
