Before

This is a 15 year follow up on saline implants. This patient came to see me in 2005 seeking breast augmentation. She was small at 5 foot 3 inches and 93 lbs. Her bra size was a 32B cup. She wanted more fullness but did not want to be too big. She was slightly asymmetrical, with the left breast a little larger and droopier than the right. 

After

She is shown 6 months after breast augmentation with Mentor smooth, round, moderate profile implants under the muscle. Her implants are 350 cc and both are filled to 375 cc**. Her bra size is a C cup. She is also shown 15 years after her augmentation. Her breasts have clearly changed. She weighs 10 lbs more and her breasts are more full as well. They are exquisitely soft. She has been very happy. She asked if she needed to replace these because of their age. I do not recommend routine replacement of implant so long as patients look and feel good. There is no reason to disturb them merely because of how old they are. I have taken out such implants and found that they look just like the day they went in. 

**I did not use different size implants for her asymmetry as this can produce asymmetries of a different type. You will notice on her 6 month photos how nice she looks and how her breasts are more even. This is because the added volume will often reduce the percent discrepancy between the breasts.
