Before

This patient illustrates a 14 year course with saline implants. When I first saw her, she was a B/C cup and wanted fuller breasts. I augmented her with Mentor smooth, round, moderate profile saline implants. The implants were 425 cc and I filled them to 450 cc. She had a beautiful result with soft, natural-looking breasts, with normal sensitivity. Her new cup size was a D. Nearly 14 years later she returned because her breasts were now so big and heavy. She had put on a few pounds (127 lb to 164 lb) and her bra size was now a DDD.

I suggested, as a start, simply removing her implants, as she clearly no longer needed them. She thought she might want a lift, but I told her she would probably be fine without this. Her implants looked just like when I first put them in. I find this to often be the case even with implants over 20 years old. It is a misconception that implants need to be removed and replaced every 10-15 years simply because of how old they are. She was very happy with her breasts without implants, and felt much better as well.
