Before
I wasn’t sure where to put this patient. It is not often I have a 23 year follow up on a breast augmentation. This young lady came to me at 21 years old for breast augmentation. She had lost volume in her breasts after pregnancy and was wearing a 34B cup bra. She weight 110 lb. I did her augmentation with Mentor smooth, round saline implants under the muscle. The implants were 350 cc. She did well with a good result but I never got a final bra size on her after her surgery.
She returned 6 years later with firmness in her breasts, especially the left one. I removed the implants and took out all the calcified scar in her left breast. The right breast had a thin, filmy capsule that did not need to be disturbed. I put in new Mentor saline implants. These were 350 cc implants and I filled them to 375 cc. At this time, she weighed 136 lb, or 26 lb more than in 1999.
In 2020, she returned. She now weighed 153 lb and her breasts had grown to a DD cup size. She felt they were too large and heavy. I offered removal of the implants, but she was not ready to do this.
In 2022, I performed a full breast lift, using and “upside down T” or “anchor” incision and removed the implants. Her final result was very nice and she was much more comfortable.
After
The photos are displayed a little differently. The first two on the left, going from left to right are her before and after photos from 1999. The next photo is from 2015 and the ones on the extreme right are from 2022. You can see the dramatic change in her breasts from weight gain and simply growing older.
