Patient - Breast Lift

Before
This lady had a tummy tuck elsewhere and was unhappy with her scars and the pucker at the right end of the scar. She also wanted her breasts lifted and thought she might need implants as well. Her abdominal scar was widened, depressed, and unsightly. She had noticeable puckers, called "dog ears" on both ends of her incision. These are caused by either improper suturing or failing to make the incision ling enough. I felt that her breasts were a nice size and thought she might be happy with a breast lift alone.
After
I performed a complete revision of her abdominal scar. I did a breast lift using a popular "anchor" or "inverted-T" incision. This technique, I feel, provides much better shaping of the breasts than techniques that involve using a purse-string suture around the areolae. This permanent suture can often be seen and felt and the purse-string can create visible pleats in the skin. As I suspected, she was very happy with the lift alone and chose not to pursue having breast implants placed. I find this is often the case. She is shown 6 months after surgery. Her scars will look even better when they have faded a bit more.
