Before
This young lady presented with a very unusual situation. She has neurofibromatosis (Von Recklinghausen's Disease) in which benign tumors of nervous tissue develop throughout the body to varying degrees. In her case, one of these tumors involved the left nipple area and created a terrible deformity. This was clearly unacceptable for a young woman.
After
I performed a modified breast lift on her. The nipple/areola complex had to be removed and then returned to the breast as a graft. I was able to remove a great deal of the abnormal tissue, but not all of it. She has an excellent result, with much better appearance to the breast and good symmetry with the right one. I later tried to give her a little more nipple projection with a graft of dermal (skin) tissue when I did a little touch up the underside of her breast, but it really did not do very much. Despite this, she is much more comfortable with her breasts now. Hopefully, the neurofibromatosis will remain quiet from this point on.
