Before

Some patients are not so much concerned with cosmetic concerns; they have practical issues they wish to have corrected. This obese lady (5' 3", 178 lb, BMI 31) had a large apron of skin and fat hanging over her pubic area. This caused her difficulty with wearing certain clothes and when she tried to work out at the gym. She had a very weak abdominal wall with a separation of her muscles. This would have been difficult to repair. All she wanted was removal of the excess skin and fat. She was a perfect candidate for a panniculectomy. While not a full abdominoplasty (tummy tuck), this is still a big operation in these individuals.

After

Here she is 6 weeks out  from her surgery in which I removed 1044 grams  (2.3 lb) of skin and fat. She is delighted with the result and feels much better.
