Before

This patient had Moh's surgery to remove a basal cell cancer of the hairline of her right forehead. The defect was quite large and she was referred to me for reconstruction. My concern here was getting a good cosmetic result with preservation of her hairline, in one operation, keeping things as simple as possible. I marked a triangular flap that I could free up carefully and advance into the defect. This is called a V-Y flap because the initial cut is a "V" and the closure looks more like a "Y". This prevented shifting of her hairline.
